Now
In the past year or so I've been more deeply involved in several different communities that are incredibly exciting to me. To name a few: Wild Goose Festival (spirit, justice, art), Folk Alliance, Durango Songwriters, Common Hymnal, and Bellchoir Studios. Go google a bit about those if any of them pique your interest.
Brother James
My debut album, Be Alive, came out in the fall. Many of these songs I started writing almost 10 years ago, documenting my spiritual journey, and it feels so good to finally have them in the world. I'm really proud of this record, and hope you enjoy it and pick it up on Bandcamp. Up next/in process: Songs for Lovers part 2, Father Rogers, and a possible second album in the making.
Production and Writing
I just finished a writing camp with Common Hymnal for a record I'm very excited about.
I'm producing an album with Jordan Smith Reynolds, one for Paula Fong alongside Phil Glenn, and a few other small projects here and there. I'm working with Orchid Quartet on an album for an artist named Peter Martston as well as the next steps for OQX.
Shows & Touring
I'm booking an east coast run in June, some possible UK dates in July, a southeast run in late August and a west coast run in September. House concerts are my favorite — turning a room of strangers into a family. But I also love playing progressive churches. If you'd like to host me for a show, I'd love to hear from you.
Life
Joy and I are hangin with our two cats in Mt Washington, a cute tucked away neighborhood in LA near Highland Park. She's teaching music to kiddos in Burbank, I'm making music and we're staying alive in LA. Couldn't ask for more.
