A philosophy of production rooted in texture, warmth, and the beautiful imperfections of being human
"The best recordings feel like someone is in the room with you. Imperfect. Breathing. Alive."
I believe music should sound like it was made by people — not machines optimizing for loudness. My production philosophy centers on what I call the "Dirty/Human" aesthetic: the grain of tape saturation, the warmth of analog compression driven a little too hard, the room ambience that a pristine digital recording strips away.
This doesn't mean lo-fi or sloppy. It means intentional imperfection. It means choosing a ribbon mic over a condenser because the darkness serves the song. It means running a vocal through a guitar amp to find a texture no plugin can replicate. It means leaving in the breath, the chair creak, the moment before the note.
I run a Hybrid Workflow — analog gear married with modern tools for editing, tuning, and arrangement exploration. The analog captures the soul; the digital refines the craft. Neither replaces the other.

Whether you're in Los Angeles or across the world, I work remotely with artists at every stage. Send your demos, and we'll shape them into something you're proud of — with real instruments, thoughtful arrangements, and sonic depth.
In-Studio or Remote
An indie folk producer helps artists shape their songs into professional recordings while preserving the authentic, organic sound that defines the genre. I specialize in production, string arranging, and songwriting from my Los Angeles studio — combining analog warmth with modern workflows. Think of it as having an experienced collaborator who serves your vision through the lens of genre- bending, textural arrangements.
Indie folk production rates vary based on project scope. Single song production typically ranges from $500–2,000, while full album projects range from $3,000–15,000 depending on complexity. String arranging starts at $300 per song. Remote session work (guitar, keys, vocals) starts at $150 per track. Every project is custom-quoted based on your specific needs.
A hybrid workflow combines the warmth and character of analog gear with the speed and precision of digital tools, including modern editing and arrangement tools. The analog captures the soul; the digital refines the craft. This approach gives you the best of both worlds — textural, human recordings with modern sonic clarity.
Absolutely. Most projects are completed remotely. Artists send demos or stems, and the production process happens through file sharing and video calls. I've worked with artists across the US, UK, Australia, and beyond. In-person sessions are available at my Mount Washington / Highland Park-adjacent studio. Final files are delivered digitally, ready for Spotify, Apple Music, and all major platforms.
Textural production focuses on the sonic "feel" of a recording — the grain of tape saturation, the warmth of analog compression, room ambience captured through ribbon microphones, and layered sound design that creates depth. It's the opposite of sterile, clinical recording. Think Bon Iver's For Emma, Iron & Wine's lo-fi warmth, or Phoebe Bridgers' layered atmospherics.
Single song projects typically take 2–4 weeks from start to finish. EP and album projects vary based on scope but generally run 2–4 months. Rush delivery is available for an additional fee. Timeline is always discussed upfront and included in the project agreement.
